Prophet Exposes Gbevlo Lartey ...Over Court Docket

Few weeks after the dismissal of immediate past National Security Coordinator, Lt. Col. (Rtd) Larry Gbevlo Lartey, there has been stunning revelation about the role he played to stop the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice from releasing a docket for the prosecution of Opanyin Abraham Adusei, a member of the Council of State, together with his accomplices, who stormed the premises of the Saviour Church of Ghana in the Eastern region and allegedly brutalised members of the church. It has emerged that Gbevlo Lartey played a significant role in ensuring that these people were not prosecuted because of the roles they play in the Mahama administration. General Superintendent of Saviour Church of Ghana, with its headquarters in Osien in the Eastern region, Prophet Elias Asirifi Dadeako, at a press conference recently, called on the current Coordinator of National Security, Mr. Yaw Donkor, to release the docket of agents of The Saviour Church of Ghana, a breakaway faction of the original Saviour Church of Ghana, who allegedly brutalised members of the mainstream Saviour Church of Ghana, during worshipping, for prosecution. Attorney Generals Department had earlier advised that this particular matter be prosecuted because of the abuse of human rights of members of Saviour Church of Ghana, and the infringement of their inherent right to worship (Freedom of Worship.) But former National Security Coordinator, Lt. Col. (Rtd) Gbevlo Lartey, he said, refused to release the docket for prosecution. The man of God, who exposed Gbevlo Lartey for stopping the law from taking its course, enumerated that the leadership, management and the entire members of the church are unhappy with the development, and hence are appealing to the newly appointed national security coordinator to look into the matter. He further called for the speedy processing of the docket. He hinted that since the death of Opanyin Isaac Kwadwo Asirifi in 1997, some elders of the church in total disregard of the original constitution of the church made in 1984, where the Holy Spirit inspirationally chose Elias Asirifi Dadeako as successor to his father, rather elected Abraham Kwaku Adusei as the successor to the founder, contrary to the churchs constitution. Prophet Asirifi Dadeako further noted that this development provoked schism within the church, which consequently saw Abraham Kwaku Adusei and some elders of the breakaway faction (The Savior Church of Ghana,) take over all movable and immovable assets belonging to Opanyin Isaac Asirifi, founder and owner of the church. Opanyin Elias Asirifi Dadeako, the current spiritual leader of the church, said since 1997 he, his family and Saviour Church of Ghana members have consistently suffered attacks at the instance of Abraham Adusei. But Mr. Adusei in a report debunked the allegation that he organised his members to cause harm to properties and members of The Saviour Church of Ghana. He added that since the case was before the court he will allow the law to take its course, urging Ghanaians to disregard the allegation. He said specifically that the attacks started from their hometown, Osiem, where he and his followers property, including buildings, were burnt down. He went on to recount that even though that action was reported to the police, no serious action was taken to bring the perpetrators to book. According to Prophet Elias Asirifi, due to the persistent brutalities and attacks from their opponents, he and his followers sought shelter at Mankrong Junction in the Central region. He recounted that Abraham Adusei and his men of which the police are unwilling to bring to order perpetuated attacks on the camp of Elias Asirifi at Mankrong Junction in 1999. He said the incident was investigated by the police who revealed that Opanyin Adusei and his followers instigated the attack which matter the police called for prosecution at Swedru Court. But strangely the prosecution of the case was abandoned in 2001, he added. Prophet Elias Asirifi Dadeako, who consequently felt intimidated and unprotected by the laws of his own nation again, moved with his followers and family to Gomoa Nyanyano, a suburb of Kasoa, to seek refuge. Not satisfied with the numerous attacks in 2003, whilst at Nyanyano, the Adusei faction again invaded the house of the Opanyin Elias faction at Osiem, destroyed bedrooms, and also other personal properties, Prophet Elias Asirifi narrated. He said surprisingly, no arrests were made by the police even though the perpetrators were identified. The most recent attack on Prophet Elias faction, according to him, occurred at Asante-Akim Juasua, where in the presence of the Divisional Police Commander of Konongo, Opanyin Elias and his followers after obtaining a lawful permit to organise a convention in 2013, were attacked, assaulted and their church properties, including cars, vandalised by the Adusei faction. He said Justice K. A. Ofori Atta, a Fast Track High Court Judge, held that an earlier judgment obtained by Adusei and his faction was obtained fraudulently and affirmed Opanyin Elias registration of his fathers church as the true Saviour Church of Ghana. He continued that after realising that the earlier judgment has been declared null and void, Opanyin Adusei and two others surreptitiously registered another religious body with the name, The Saviour Church of Ghana. That action, according to Prophet Elias, compelled his faction to file a contempt writ against Opanyin Adusei at an Accra Fast Track High Court. The Saviour Church of Ghana is a religious body incorporated under the laws of Ghana on 6th February, 2007 under the leadership of (Opanyin Elia Asirifi Dadeako). And since 1997 the fundamental human rights, especially the right to free worship of members of this organisation had been violated by agents of The Saviour Church of Ghana with impunity. The case has been adjourned to 3rd June, 2014.
