Support Police To Fight Crime �DSP Kwasi Ofori

District Police Commander of Dodowa District in the Greater Accra region, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kwasi Ofori, has urged residents of Dodowa and its environs to assist the police in their quest to fight crime in the district. DSP Kwasi Ofori was speaking to the media over a shooting incident that occurred between the police and some armed robbers last Monday. He said his outfit received a distress call from a resident that some armed men were robbing a nearby house hence a team of police officers were dispatched to the scene. He noted that upon arriving at the scene, the armed robbers engaged them in a shoot-out. �Some of the gunmen were arrested while others sustained various degrees of injuries,� he said. The district police commander said some of robbers escaped with gunshot wounds and therefore appealed to all health institutions to report any person(s) who attempts to seek medical attention at their facilities with gunshot wounds to the police. He further divulged that four robbers have been apprehended so far in the past one month in the district, adding �one was recently sentenced to 23 years imprisonment.� DSP Kwasi Ofori assured residents of Afienya, Dodowa, Oyibi, Mataheko and its environs of police protection and the service�s readiness to fight crime in the area. He also urged them to come forward with information on suspected criminals and help the police to identify criminals in police parades to ensure that such people are made to face the full rigours of the law.
