GYEEDA Case Adjourned To June 5

The Fast Track High Court presided over by Her Ladyship, Justice Afia Asare Botwe has adjourned to 5th June the case involving former GYEEDA boss Abuga Pele and CEO of Goodwill International, Philip Assibit. Although the two accused persons were in court, hearing could not continue because counsel for Mr. Assibit, Raymond Bagnabu was indisposed. The Prosecution also served notice its witness was not in good health to continue with the case. Messers Abuga Pele and Philip Assibit are facing trial in the controversial GYEEDA saga. Mr. Abuga Pele is charged with causing financial loss to the state while Philip Assibit is charged with defrauding the state. At the last sitting, the defense counsel had finished cross-examining a senior officer of the Ministry of Finance, Gladys Ghartey who was the second prosecution witness.
