Schlupp To Fight For Ghana Spot

The striker-turned-defender is gearing up to wrestle for a place in Ghanas final squad for Brazil 2014, but will not be bothered if he fails to make the roster for the Mundial. Leicester City player Jeffrey Schlupp will be happy to make the final cut for the 2014 World Cup with Ghana. The German-born Ghanaian is among a 26-man provisional panel currently training in Accra ahead of the Mundial. Although he conceded that he needs to put in a great deal of effort to cement a spot in the team with just a cap under his belt, Schlupp stated life goes on if he doesnt make it to Brazil. I just take each step as it comes. Whatever happens, happens," Schlupp told the media at the Accra Stadium. I am definitely ready. I was born to play football and I am ready for any challenge. About his second call-up, Schlupp revealed: It means a lot, obviously with me being from Ghana. It's an honour to play for your country. If I do make it to Brazil, I would be very happy. But if not, it was always a good experience and I am happy with my work. I feel good, the 21-year-old added. The last time I came in was in 2011, the team's got quite a lot of familiar faces. It's nice to meet up with the people I didn't know and to hopefully make good friendships.
