Ekow Micah Warns Obour And Others

The music industry and its stakeholders will not forgive all those whose actions and inactions have contributed to the current disintegration within the music industry in Ghana, the President of the Music Council of Ghana (MCG), Ekow Micah, yesterday cautioned. He had disclosed that for over a decade now, a group of trouble makers mostly from within the music industry have never given the industry and its stakeholders peace to operate and bring about transformation in the music sector. He stressed that the so- called trouble makers who were agitating for war in the industry are not even in any position to offer credible alternatives to the problems confronting the industry. Ekow added that they have refused to be quiet and allow the ongoing transformation of the industry to run its course. The outspoken music stakeholder who is unhappy with the activities of some stakeholders including the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour noted, They are only creating problems for the industry and they should bear in mind that when there are problems, the music industry can never be developed for all to benefit. Speaking to BEATWAVES in an exclusive interview yesterday, the President of the Music Council said for the sake of peace and unity in the music industry, the entire executives of the Council have been silent hoping that those agitating for the destruction of the music industry would realise the ineffectuality of their diabolic agenda. He however sent a warning signal to Obour to start compiling all his statements of accounts because very soon, the members of the union would also descend on him and his executives to render accounts of their stewardship. He stressed that there would be a massive house cleaning exercise in the music industry to weed out all those whose actions and inactions have undermined the progress of the music industry in Ghana.
