NPP Is Like An 'Overly Excited Electron' Ready To Implode Sam George

A member of the Communication team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has indicated that he is waiting to see how Mr. Paul Afoko and Kwabena Adjei Agyepong are going to handle these threats of gutter and no gutter that is coming up from within the NPP. He said if you look at the NPP right now, it appears like an overly excited electron which is on the verge of imploding because so many things are just happening, bouncing here and there. Samuel George was commenting on recent happenings within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) especially with regards to its flagbearership race. Many groups are emerging within the NPP announcing their support for one flagbearer hopeful or the other. For now, the war of words appears to be between two time flagbearer, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo and two time failed flagbearer, Alan K. Kyeramaten. Groups supporting these two candidates seem to be at each others throat as they believe their candidate is the right person to give victory to the NPP during the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections. Speaking to the issue on a panel discussion on Radio Golds political platform, "Alhaji and Alhaji", Sam George added: the NPP claims to be the bastion of democracy; rule of law. It is important the NPP comes to the realization, especially the Nana Addo camp, that you cannot arrogate for yourself the powers of the Almighty to determine how others should go about their activities. He recalled an instance where the current NPP National Chair, Paul Afoko, was manhandled at the partys conference in Legon. In 2007, University of Ghana, the sitting Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Paul Afoko was given dirty slaps by a certain faction in the NPP because they claim that he was sharing dollars in support of one candidate. Today he is National Chairman. Those who slapped him or orchestrated the slap still seek power, he bemoaned. Sam George sounded a note of caution to his fellow NDC members to put the interest of the party ahead of their personal interests and counseled the ruling party to take a cue from the happenings in the NPP as it prepares for a National Congress. ...when your neighbours beard is on fire, fetch water by your side so that when yours catches fire, you can quench it immediately, he said.
