Angry NDC Chase Nana Oye Lithur

The Greater Accra Regional executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are angry with Nana Oye Lithur, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, and have summoned her to appear before them. Barring any last minute hitches, DAILY GUIDE learnt, Nana Oye would face the executives tomorrow over alleged insults she heaped on a deputy minister. The Minister is expected to be quizzed about her alleged tantrums directed at her deputy, who doubles as Member of Parliament (MP) for Ledzokuku, Benita Sena Okity-Duah, on Saturday, May 24, 2014. The Gender Minister, who is the wife of President Mahamas lawyer, Tony Lithur, is said not to be on talking terms with her two deputies Sena and Rachel Appoh and was alleged to have hurled unprintable insults at Sena during the registration of the aged and disabled persons in her (Senas) constituency for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) on Saturday, May 24, 2014. The alleged misconduct of the Minister, DAILY GUIDE gathered, took centre stage of a recent meeting of the Greater Regional of the NDC, leading to the holding of a press conference by the regional executives, but in the last minute, the Regional Chairman, Kobina Ade Coker, who presided over the meeting, ditched the group by distancing himself from the press conference. Since the attack on Sena Okity-Duah, her constituents have been restless, calling on the President to call the Minister to order. Within the last one week, two press confabs had been held by different groups to condemn the action of the Gender Minister.
