GACC Elects New Board Chair And Appoints Veteran Anti-Corruption Crusader As Executive Secretary

The Governing Council of the Ghana Anti � Corruption Coalition (GACC) has elected Nana Osei-Bonsu, as the new Chairman of the GACC Council and appointed Mrs. Linda Ofori-Kwafo as the Executive Secretary. Nana Osei-Bonsu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Private Enterprises Federation (PEF) - member of the GACC- has been a key advocate for the use of anti � corruption laws and institutions in the country to help reduce corruption and trigger development. Nana Osei-Bonsu had an extensive banking career in the USA, starting at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 1972 and later joining the New York State Banking Department as a Bank Examiner in 1977. In Ghana, he co-authored the report that formed the basis of government�s decision not to sell Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB). Nana Osei - Bonsu became the architect for the establishment and enactment of the Venture Capital Trust Fund Act and the Long Term Savings Act which was adapted in its entirety as Tier III of the new 3-Tier Pension Act. Nana was recognized for his selfless contribution to the advancement of humanity by Lagos-based Women of Purpose Ministry International for his patronage and support to the Society for the Aged, located at Kpone-on-Sea in Greater Accra, of which he is a Life Patron.
