Don�t Crucify Kufuor

A human rights activist and National Patron of Volunteers of Nana Oye (VOLNOYE) has described as uncalled for the recent verbal attacks on the former president John Agyekum Kufuor for attending the re-launching of the Merchant Bank now Universal Merchant Bank. He said those calling for his crucification should have given him the due respect as a former Head of State. Mr. Peter Averbs who is Kumasi Based business man and also The National Patron of Volunteer of Nana Oye (VOLNOYE) stressed the need to accord our former heads of states due respects. Mr. Peter Averbs stated these in an interview with the Punch. He said Ghanaians must not forget our culture heritage which prohibits the insulting of elders which he said is alien to the back race. He called on Teachers, NCCE, Opinion Leaders and Traditional rulers as well as the clergy to revisit our traditional norms. Democracy Mr. Averbs observed is matter of being abreast with the law and observing the law.
