A 29-year-old mechanic has been sentenced to 10 years� imprisonment with hard labour by a Tamale Circuit Court for defiling a 15-year-old JHS pupil. Narrating the incident to The Finder, Chief Inspector Obin Botwey stated that the accused, Iddrisu Majeed, who is a mechanic at Zogbeli, a suburb of Tamale, where the victim also resides, has on three occasion lured the 15-year-old girl into his room and had sexual intercourse with her, and on each occasion warned the victim not to disclose her ordeal to anyone else she will die. In April this year the parents of the accused after noticing changes in her behaviour, questioned her and she mentioned the Iddrisu Majeed�s name and narrated what she went through in his hands. A complaint was lodged with the police by parents of the victim, Abdulai Jemila, and a police medical report form was subsequently issued to her. The report revealed that the victim was one month and two weeks pregnant. On Thursday, June 5, 2014, Majeed was arrested and arraigned before the Tamale Circuit Court, presided over by Justice Senyo. The accused pleaded guilty to the charges and was convicted on his own plea and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment with hard labour. In another development, a 38-year-old butcher is also in the tight grips of the police for throwing decency and mercy to the dogs by raping a 13-year-old pupil. On March 9, 2014 about 10:30pm, the victim, who lives in Choggu, a suburb of Tamale, was sent by her mother to call her sister from across the street. On her way back, she decided to pass through the premises of Bishop JHS, where she was attacked and seized by the accused, Alhassan Baako Iddrisu, who forcibly had sexual intercourse with her on the veranda of the school and warned the victim not to mention her ordeal to anyone. After the act, Fuseina run home to her parents in tears and narrated her ordeal to them. The parents reported it to the police and a police medical form was issued to the victim. According to Chief Inspector Botwey, the medical report indicated that the hymen of the victim had been broken, with other serious injuries to her reproductive system. The accused was subsequently arrested after police investigation and charged with the offence accordingly. He was later arraigned before court and remanded in lawful custody to reappear later. Bishop JHS at Choggu has in recent times been the centre of attraction for deviants at night.
