Typhoid fever is said to be on the rise due to what medical experts attribute to uncleanliness and disregard for basic hygiene. Children are particularly the most affected with about ten to fifteen cases recorded at the ridge hospital Out Patients Department daily. The Director of Disease Surveillance at the Ghana Health Service Dr. Badu Sarkodie warned that in order to control the deadly disease, exposed faeces must be a thing of the past. He said cold foods should be avoided and any sign of excessive body and abdominal pains and diarrhoea must be taken seriously as these are the common signs associated with the disease.
