A Ghanaian delegation of tourism practitioners from both public and private institutions has visited Zambia to explore the possibility of multi-destination visits by tourists.
The Multi-destination concept in tourism allows tour operators to sell tours that enable the tourist to visit more than one country to experience different cultures, wildlife, heritage and history.
The delegation was made up of the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourist Development Company (GTDC), Mr Samuel Atta-Mills, his deputy, Mr Gideon Aryeequaye, a past president of the Ghana Association of Travel and Tourist Agents (GATTA), Mr Johnnie Morreaux and president of the Tour Operators of Ghana (TOUGHA).
Facilitated by the High Commission of Zambia in Accra and Kenya Airways, the tour took the Ghanaians to Victoria Falls and the Mukuni Big 5 where they had encounters with elephants and touched tamed lions.
They also met the Vice President of Zambia, Mr Guy Scot, who is a white born in Zambia.
There were also technical meetings with officials of the Zambia Tourism Board and the country�s private sector.
