Akwapem NPP Unveils Plan

The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akwapem North Constituency of the Eastern Region, has unveiled its strategic plan to re-capture power in the 2016 general elections at a meeting. The meeting, which was held behind closed doors at the weekend at Akropong, was chaired by the NPP National 1st Vice Chairman, Fredie Blay. The eventful meeting also brought together a number of dignitaries including, the Akwapim North Member of Parliament (MP), W.O. Boafo ; Ambassador Afari, Member of Parliament for Bantama (Ashanti Region); Henry Kojo Akokofo; NPP National Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku ; Annor Dompreh; Balado Manu; leader of the Action For Accountable Governance (AFAG) leader, Dr. Afriyie, among others. Freddie Blay, in an opening remark, praised the youth for what he described as �a rich blend of innovation using ICT� to come out with the strategic plan, more than two years before the next general elections. He paid a glowing tribute to the constituents saying they were privileged to have prominent political veterans with great ideas to help the youth in their campaign. Mr. Freddie Blay also charged the youth to ensure that they leave no stone unturned as they implement their plans. He charged them to always remain disciplined and vigilant. According to Mr. Blay, �The NDC regime is one that is addicted to corruption and impunity which has led to the national economy being thrown out of gear and for which reason Ghanaians are crying for change.� He stressed that Ghanaians would not forgive the NPP if the needed change did not come. The MP for the area, Mr. W.O Boafo, commended the youth for what he termed as the �taking the bull by the horn� to champion the campaign strategy for the constituency. The MP admonished them to avoid any politics of insults and attacks and make every effort to address the issues that would lead the party to victory in 2016. Mr. Balado Manu quoted Proverbs 26:4 and appealed to the youth to be circumspect in the use of their language as they move out into the communities. The MP for Bantama assured them of collaboration between the Bantama constituency and Akwapim North. He urged the young and energetic youth to develop anti-rigging mechanism to counteract any attempt by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to rig the 2016 elections. The National Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku, assured the youth g of assistance in their endeavours, adding that the challenge to re-capture power from the NDC heavily rested on their efforts. He appealed to them to avoid the temptation of engaging in any campaign of insults and deal with issues. The Eastern Regional Organize of the NPP, Jerry Osei Poku, called for collective efforts by all in the constituency to help bring the part y back to power.
