Although she is currently single, young actress, Marie Humbert, like most women, looks out for certain qualities in a man when she is ready to get hitched. However, one thing which will not bother Marie at all, she says, is the age of the man. For the Theatre of Arts graduate, age is nothing but a number and would not worry her head over whether the man is too young or too old so far as he loves her, he is hard working, ambitious and well to do. Talking to Showbiz, Marie said � I will not consider age as so important when choosing a partner. In fact, I can�t understand why people make big issues about the ages of potential partners. I don�t think one�s age should be a deal breaker because all that matters to me is love. If you love each other and you are compatible, why should age be a reason to deny yourself of a potential beautiful experience?� she queried. � A man�s age is the farthest thing on my mind when I meet someone. What matters to me is to have a good conversation and at the end of the day, if I find what I am looking for in a man in that person and vice versa, we go for it. I know some people will think I am crazy but that is my opinion and everybody is entitled to one,� she added. � You see, at the end of the day, I am the one in the relationship and if the man makes me happy, why should I be bothered about what others will say. In fact, I do not care what people will say. �I think it is time women go in for what they want and not what people think they should go in for. Whatever you do, people will talk about you. �I have come to realise that, what some people claim to be pieces of advice turn out to be said out of jealousy and if I have to heed to all that, I will not live my life,� she added. Marie is fairly new to the Ghanaian movie scene. She featured in Shirley Frimpong Manso�s Adams Apples and Potomanto which won her a nomination in the Best Actress In A Supportiing Role at this year�s African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). Marie, born to a Swiss French father from Geneva and a Ghanaian mother grew up in six countries with her family before entering the Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, where she read a degree in Theatre of Arts. The actress who speaks French and English fluently later enrolled in a professional acting school in Paris. Marie looks up to the likes of Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Waltz, Kevin Spacey, Vivien Leigh and Marlon Brando as role models. She describes herself as a dreamer and a lover of life and claims to be the next big thing to hit Ghana.
