Rain Storm Kills 2 Brothers

Two brothers lost their lives when a heavy rainstorm caused the collapse of a building in which they were sleeping in on Sunday�s night at Tiiwi in the Sissala West District of Upper West Region. The victims were Zaakor Domalerin, a five year-old Kindergarten 2 pupil and one-year-old Zaakor Bawin-echo. The parents of the deceased and two other siblings namely; Worhor Zaakor 45, Hawawu Zaakor 38, Ali Afia 64, Tiito Zaakor 15, and Zaakor N-faworwia 11 who were also sleeping in the room sustained various degree of injuries. The rainstorm also ripped off the roof a school in the community, thereby disrupting teaching and learning. This is the third rainstorm that has hit the district this year. Mr Moses Dramani Luri, District Chief Executive accompanied by Alhaji Alidu, District National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Coordinator and Alhassan Giro, Assembly man of the area visited the family of the bereaved to sympathize with them. Mr Luri who presented a token amount of money to the bereaved family said NADMO in collaboration with the Assembly is mobilizing relief items to support the victims.
