Ex-Prez Kufour Must Intervene In NPP Crisis To Ensure Peace - Former Youth Organizer

Immediate Past Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], Emmanuel Attefuah Danso has called on former President John Agyekum Kufour to intervene in the crisis currently going on in the NPP. According to him, ex-president Kufour who has distinguished himself as a statesman and a role-model in the NPP must stand on his authority to call the party leaders and factional groups within the party to order. His appeal comes after a senior member of the party, Mr. David Hoezame, filed a suit challenging the status of the partys National Council as presently constituted. Joined to the suit is the partys National Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko. The motion for interim embargo is specifically praying the Accra High Court to restrain the NPP from conducting elections for the selection of a presidential candidate until the final determination of the suit. Again, there have been some factionalism between two-time presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and presidential aspirant hopeful Alan Kyeremanten as to who leads the NPP come 2016. These issues have caused some pandemonium within the elephant fraternity for the past few weeks. In an interview with Peacefmonline.com the former youth organizer, Emmanuel Attefuah-Danso expressed displeasure with the current happenings in the NPP. To him, if nothing is done to solve the internal disputes, the elephant will remain in the bush. Thus, the party will remain in opposition forever. He however advised party leaders to restrain from media battle that will bring the partys status into opprobrium. He further noted that, the only solution to NPPs current crisis is that, Ex-President Kufour must intervene. He is the only person who can resolve the issues in the NPP. NPP supporters want to see the party in power not confusion within the party. There must be unity, he added.
