The institutions founder Eric Delanyo Alifo says police personnel on several occasions, torture or use violent means to get confessions from suspects who are mostly not guilty. He said this development has led to the jailing of many innocent persons. Mr. Alifo told XYZ BREAKFAST show host Moro Awudu that the country needs to get serious about tackling the challenges confronting its justice system. The system is so oppressive to accused persons so that I believe that many of the people who are in our prisons may be innocent. My biggest issue is the fact that most of these people who cannot afford the services of lawyers are not assisted at all, Mr. Alifo said
