The management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has appealed to the public to help trace the mother of a two-month-old baby girl abandoned at the hospital.
The baby, who is now being cared for at Ward A2 of the Maternity Block of the hospital, is very healthy.
According to Madam Theresa Amoateng, the Principal Midwifery Officer of the Maternity Block, the baby was sent to the ward by a mother who had created the impression that she was attending a post-natal clinic at Room 8 of the hospital.
She explained that the mother left the baby in the care of another woman, under the pretext of attending the call of nature and never returned for her.
