64 Year Old Student Seeks Assistance

Adama Watra, 64, who is currently a non-resident undergraduate of the University of Ghana, has appealed to benevolent institutions and individuals to support him to pay his fees, as well as purchase other items in the premier university. The 64-year-old man made the appeal when he visited the offices of DAILY GUIDE, which earlier carried a story on him when he entered Junior High School (JHS) at Japekrom in the Brong Ahafo region. Adama Watra, who is popularly known as �Old Boy in School,� has just completed the second semester. He said he failed to pay the required fees of GH�1500 for the last semester. He stated that he could not to work effectively to raise enough money to pay his fees due to his consistent progression from JHS to university. Old Boy entered the Junior High School (JHS) at the age of 55 at Japekrom in 2006 and completed in 2008 with an aggregate of 19. He proceeded to Drobo Senior High School (SHS) to pursue General Arts and completed in 2012 with an aggregate of 20. Adama Watra is currently pursuing a two-year diploma course in �Youth In Development Work �at the University of Ghana. The �Youth In Development Work� course is being sponsored by the Commonwealth Youth Programme. Watra, who is married with five children who are all in school, added that his wife has been very supportive in these trying moments. Interestingly, Watra was in the same class with his son from JHS to SHS.
