The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyapong has communicated the guidelines for the conduct of the election of Regional Representatives on the National Council. Below is the full statement: GUIDELINES FOR THE ELECTION OF REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES ON NATIONAL COUNCIL Further to the earlier communication on the above, the National Steering Committee, acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), do hereby communicate the following Guidelines for the conduct of the election of Regional Representatives on the National Council. The Election is under Article 7 (15) d of the Party�s Constitution: 1.Nomination/Filing Fees to be paid by Aspirants shall be Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH�2,000.00). 2.Nominations are to remain open until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 27th June 2014. 3.It is advised that you ensure that the elections are held in strict conformity with the provisions of the Party�s Constitution. 4.The elections should be representative of the demography of the Region as to reflect the diversity and national character of the Party. 5.The elections shall be supervised by Representatives of the National Executive Committee as per the attached List. The outcome shall be determined by simple majority. 6.The number of Regional Representatives, per each Region, is shown on the attached Schedule. 7.Any matter that may arise in the organization and conduct of the Elections should be promptly reported to the General Secretary for resolution. It is hoped that these Guidelines will greatly assist in the organization and conduct of the Extraordinary Regional Delegates Conferences to elect Regional Representatives on the National Council.
