New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central has launched a scathing attack on former president Jerry Rawlings for keeping quite over the �unbridled corruption in the Mahama-led administration. Kennedy Agyapong said the ex-president as an anti-corruption crusader must be seen to be condemning govern �for us to know he is real�. Mr. Rawlings as a crusader of probity, accountability and social justice has been very critical on government he deemed corrupt. The erstwhile Kufuor and Mills administration have its fair share of the predecessor�s vitriolic of their tenure in office. But the issue is far different with the Mahama-led administration even when issues of corruption have become very topical. Against this backdrop, Kennedy Agyapong on Boiling Point, a political discussion programme on Oman FM accused Mr. Rawlings of �hypocrisy� for his loud silence over alleged corrupt deals in government. According to him, Rawlings� unfair vilification of Mr. Kufuor was because he [Rawlings] was envious of the enormous progress he brought into the country. �The only legacy of Jerry Rawlings is jealousy and greed and he has inculcated it in members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC)�. The Assin Central MP noted that former President Rawlings has no moral right to call anybody corrupt if he cannot clean his own house and put the government on his toes. Citing the SADA, GYEEDA, SUBAH corruption scandal that has rocked the Mahama government, he said �Rawlings is silent because he is a direct beneficiary�. Kennedy Agyapong urged Rawlings to remove the plank in his eyes before removing the speck in other people�s eyes.
