CPP Appeals To Government On Workers Needs

The Eastern Regional Secretary of the Convention Peoples Party CPP, Albert Quarcoe-Zah, has called on government to provide the basic needs for workers, especially housing, to avoid premature death of retirees. He asked government to give meaningful benefits to workers in order to save some of their resources to put up shelter rather than organising parties for them after going on retirement. This was contained in a release issued to newsmen in Koforidua in the New Juaben Municipality. Mr. Quarcoe-Zah was unhappy that workers spend between 24 and 43 years to serve the nation and retire to suffer from a place of abode, poverty and diseases, while their fellow Ghanaians who serve for only four years as Parliamentarians, take home fantastic end of serve benefits. This he noted does not auger well for the Civil and Public Servants to render dedicated service towards national development. Mr. Quarcoe-Zah therefore appealed to government to consider the plight of the Ghanaian workers and provide them with their necessities for them to live longer than rushing them to the graves prematurely.
