Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed he had to �kneel and beg� prevent Sulley Muntari from being thrown out of the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2010 World Cup finals. Muntari was sacked from camp hours before Ghana�s final Group G match against Portugal last Thursday in Brasilia for violent behaviour. The AC Milan ace attacked Moses Arthur, a Ghana Football Association official and member of the Black Stars management committee member without any provocation. He has been handed an indefinite suspension by the Ghana FA and that has put his international career in serious doubt. Nyantakyi has revealed that Muntari should have been sacked from Ghana�s camp prior to the 2010 World Cup finals in South but he had to intervene. �In 2010, I was the one who knelt and begged the coach not to throw Sulley Muntari out of the camp on two occasions,� Nyantakyi said. �The first one was in Milton Keynes and the second one in Sun City when he engaged in acts of indiscipline and Milovan Rajevac said he will not want to see him-I was the one who begged for him. Maybe if I had allowed him to be thrown out, this thing would not have happened.� Muntari�s ill-discipline can be traced back to 2004 when he was sacked from Ghana�s U23 camp by then coach Mariano Barreto.
