Youth Group Want Regional Minister Back

The Concerned Youth Association on Friday demonstrated against the removal of Dr. Ephraim Avea Nsoh from office as the substantive Upper East Regional Minister. This demonstration is the third of its kind by youth groups in the region demanding the reinstatement of Dr. Nsoh as the Regional Minister. Dr. Nsoh was brought from the Upper West Region barley three months ago to the Upper East Region as Regional Minister, after which he was removed from office during the recent ministerial reshuffling. The concerned youth chanted war songs and danced through the principal streets of the Bongo District in the Upper East Region with placards, some of which read J.M WHY, This is gossip reshuffling, President hear our cry now, My father, the way you do it is not fine, Wahala President why, We would reshuffle you in 2016, among others. In a petition signed and read by Mr. Edward Abesiwine Asekere, Spokesperson of the group stated that, Dr. Nsoh is the only one who can help bring development to the region since he had been able to do that in other regions. The petition said as the youth remain stakeholders in the development of the region and the country as a whole, it was wrong for the president to remove such hardworking and credible minister from office. It stated that Dr. Nsoh had been able to help the people of the Upper East Region from their woes by creating many educational opportunities and good socio-economic programmes for women and children. The petition called on the president to consider the development of the region and reinstate Dr. Nsoh, since he was the only person they believe in. The District Chief Executive of the area, Mr. Alexis Ayamdor Adogdor, who received the petition, assured the youth to channel their concerns to the right office for redress. He commended the youth for exhibiting maturity by following the right course to address their concerns and called on them to remain calm while efforts are made to resolve the issue.
