We Arent Diverting Fishing Input For Fishermen MASLOC

The Micro Finance and Small Loans Center (MASLOC) has dismissed claims by some fishermen that it is illegally diverting fishing equipment allocated to them. The fishermen in the Western and Central regions on Thursday stormed MASLOC offices to protest what they describe as connivance of some MASLOC officials to illegally divert fishing inputs allocated to them. But speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of MASLOC, Mustapha Abubakar dismissed their claims and insisted the fishermen received the inputs from MASLOC over two years ago. Mr. Abubakar noted that it would be impossible for MASLOC officials to illegally divert the fishing inputs since the leader of the group of protesters formed part of the delegation sent by MASLOC to secure the equipment. Their leader was part of the delegation MASLOC sent to Japan and Korea to bring these fishing nets to the country, so how can we return to distribute the motors without you getting any. In that regard, he advised the group to forward their concerns to the Ministry of Fisheries since MASLOC had fulfilled its part of the contract it signed with them. We will not deal directly with the fisher folks group again. It is going through the Ministry of fisheries as set by my chief executive and anybody who is interested should to go through the Ministry of Fisheries, Mr. Abubakar insisted.
