Muslims Receive Donation From The President

Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong, Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, has appealed to Muslims to intercede on behalf of the nation as they observe their Ramadan. She also urged to seek Gods guidance and protection for President John Dramani Mahama. Ms Frimpong made the appeal at Koforidua when she presented 50 bags each of rice and sugar to the Muslim community on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama to support their fasting. She assured the Muslims of the Presidents continuous commitment to resolving the economic challenges facing the nation and also appealed to them to play their respective roles to enable the government to continue to make Ghana a better place for all. Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim Community Alhaji Yussif Sulemana Amdani, the Regional Chief Imam, expressed gratitude to the President for the donation. He said the Muslim Community would never forget him in their prayers and pledged to lead in interceding for the nation throughout the Ramadan period. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. For a 30-dy period, Muslims all over the world abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs during the daylight hours. It is a time to purify the soul, refocus attention on Allah and practice self-sacrifice.
