Identification Cards will soon be issued out to paramount chiefs in the Central Region, as part of efforts by the Central Regional House of Chiefs (CRHC), to stem impersonation of its members. Daasebre Kwebu Ewusie the seventh, President of CRHC who made this known on Wednesday, said the action has become necessary because the issue was gradually becoming a problem in the region. Speaking at the First General Meeting of the CRHC in Cape Coast, attended by paramount chiefs of the various traditional areas in the region, Daasebre Ewusie said, there was a case currently pending before a High Court against someone who posed as a chief, and even issued complimentary cards to deceive unsuspecting people, and hoped the ID cards will help mitigate the problem. Daasebre Ewusie urged the chiefs to use the celebration of their various festivals to enlighten the people on the positive aspects of their traditional and cultural practices, to facilitate development, and also foster unity among the various communities. He advised them to avoid the use of live bullets in muskets during durbars to climax their festivals, and urged all citizens to contribute their quota towards the development of the country irrespective of their political affiliations. �Ghana belongs to us all and generations yet unborn, hence it is our core duty to make Ghana a safe haven,� Daasebre Ewusie noted. On behalf of the CRHC, its president sympathized with the family of �Castro,� a Hiplife Artiste known in private life as Theophilus Tagoe, who together with a female companion, Ms Janet Bangu, were feared dead after a Jet Ski accident on the Ada River last Sunday, and prayed for them to be found. He advised all hospitality industries along the beaches to enforce safety rules, to prevent accidents. On Sports, he congratulated the Black Stars for their performance at the on-going World Cup in Brazil, and entreated them not to be weighed down by the failure, but to focus on the future, because there were better opportunities ahead of them. Daasebre Ewusie bemoaned the rampant occurrence of road accidents in the region, and appealed to chiefs to use their platforms to sensitize their subjects on road safety measures to curb the menace.
