Gov�t Supports Teshie Technical Training Centre

THE MUNICIPAL Chief Executive for Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly, Seth Badu Tawiah has urged recipients of government items to equip them in their vocational training not to sell them, but used them profitably. He made the call when his outfit, in collaboration with LESDEP and COTVET made available some equipment to trainees of the Teshie Technical Training Centre (TTTC) and some members of the hairdressers association in the municipality. At a short presentation ceremony at the Assembly, the MCE intimated government�s commitment in assisting the youth in skills training to ensure that they are able to fend for themselves. His assurance was that this will not be the last time government will be doing this, but more things will come and tasked them to use the equipment for the purpose for which they were given to them. On her part, the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Benita Sena Okity Duah said though there are so many barriers in life with commitment, dedication and hard work they will get to their target destinations. She also urged them to work with passion, as well as from their hearts to ensure that they thrive in their respective fields of endeavours. The Principal of the TTTC, Clement Kwablah after receiving the items on behalf of the school, said the school is inundated with myriads of challenges and made a passionate appeal not only to LEKMA, LESDEP and COTVET, but also to NGO�S, philanthropists, corporate bodies and churches. Mr. Kwablah told the gathering that his outfit which offers programmes such as, building construction technology, electrical engineering, fashion designing including hospitality and wood construction is bedevilled with classroom facilities, workshops fully equipped, assembly hall and hostel facilities. The items which were estimated at the cost of GH�100,000.00 included hair dryers, spade, head pans, hammers, saw among other carpentry tools. Some of the dignitaries who graced the occasion were Agatha Sackey, the zonal chairperson of the national association of beauticians and hairdressers, the coordinator of LEKMA, Nancy Ewa Moira, and the coordinator of LESDEP.
