Mahama Letter Pops Up

Daily Guide has in its possession a letter said to have been the infamous Green Letter from President John Mahama to his staffers at the Flagstaff House which has sent them scrambling for cover. The letter dated July 4, 2014 and signed personally by the President, is alleged to be a subtle notice to his aides and advisors that he would soon embark on a mass sacking and reassignment. The letter titled, Portfolios of Presidential Staffers, thanked the staffers for their services. May I use this opportunity to express my profound gratitude for the service you have rendered to the nation in your various positions as staffers in the Office of the President, it stated. I intend in the near future to make certain changes and/or re-assignment of portfolios in the Office of the President. Please stand by, as the changes will be communicated to you in due course, the President informed his teeming staffers. However, the President prayed that the affected people would have the strong will to stomach the repercussion of his action. It is in my prayer that God will grant you the grace to apply yourself diligently and effectively to whatever position or situation you find yourself in, he said, preparing the minds of those who may be relieved of their duties for the attendant shocks. Critics have blamed the Presidents advisors and aides for partly being responsible for the state of the confusion confronting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as it parries accusations of corruption, bad governance and general mismanagement of the Ghanaian economy; a situation that has driven the country into dire economic straits.
