Preliminary investigation by government have revealed that 103
fans did not return to Ghana after the World Cup in Brazil.
This is against reports of 200 Ghanaian football fans seeking asylum in that country.
In a statement signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mahama Ayariga, 807 Ghanaian traveled to Brazil for the World Cup, out of which 612 were sponsored by the Ministry.
It says the Ministry is however yet to relate the individuals on the return flight to the Ministry's list of 612 sponsored passengers to determine the actual
number of its sponsored passengers who have not returned.
