Four Management Staff Of Volta Lake Transport Company Dismissed

The Board of Directors of the Volta Lake Transport Company a subsidiary of the VRA has retrenched four management staff. They were employed under the Chinese $ 3 billion transport development project on the Volta Lake. Their dismissal follows VLTC workers agitation over management, being a drain on the work on the VLTC operation. Letters to the four indicate that they are supposed to end their service with the VLTC by the end of July 2014. The dismissed officials include the financial controller, system control manager, maintenance manager, and ICT Manager. Another person whose appointment the workers are asking to be terminated is the Port Manager who they claim has reduced his age. He started working with the Ghana Highway Authority Ferries before joining VLTC, an issue which is being investigated. Sources close to Radio Ghana say the dismissal will help save GH 22,500.00 each month. Meanwhile, the workers have applauded the board members of VRA for paying heed to their cry.
