Woman In Court For Stabbing Partner

A Security woman, Gladys Osei, who allegedly stabbed her partner, has been remanded in police custody by the Amasaman Circuit Court. She has been charged with the offence of causing harm and is to reappear before the court. Presenting the facts of the case before Mrs Babara Naadja Charwey, the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Ben Kofi Annan, said the complainant, Elvis Amponsa, a mason, and Osei were lovers and lived together at Satellite, Kuntunse, near Accra. C/Inspr Annan said at about 9 a.m. on June 27, 2014, Osei had the notion that Amponsa had planned to use her sexually and dump her later. The prosecutor said Osei, therefore, approached Amponsa and started asking him questions while he was on the phone but due to the call, he did not mind her. He said Osei became offended and pulled a knife from her back pocket and stabbed Amponsa on his shoulder. Amponsa attempted to run away but she chased him and stabbed him again at the back. The prosecutor said Amponsa started bleeding profusely, shouted for help and some neighbour who came to his aid rushed him to the Nsawam Government Hospital for treatment . The prosecutor said about 5 a.m. on June 28, 2014, some neighbour arrested Osei and handed her over to the police for investigation.
