NDC Womens Organiser Fights Assemblyman

The Nhyiaeso Constituency womens organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nana Yaa Boakyewaa, has assaulted the assemblyman for the area, Osei Tutu. Nana Boakyewaa and her sister Hannah Darkwah are caterers under the school feeding programme at the Sokoban M/A School. She said she went to the school one day only to see some people pulling down their kitchen under the orders of the assemblyman. According to her, the assemblyman said a toilet facility would be constructed on that piece of land. She alleged that the headmaster of the school denied knowledge of the planned toilet facility. Nana Boakyewaa told The Finder that the assembly failed to provide a new place for them to construct another kitchen. She said she confronted the assemblyman over the issue and it resulted in a fight. The assemblyman, Mr Tutu, said he met the headmaster of the school, chief of the community, together with the sanitation director of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and provided the caterers with a place to use as kitchen before carrying out with the demolishing. According to him, the headmaster of the school has connived with the womens organiser to oppose his plan.
