United Cadres Front Urges Workers Not To Join Intended Demonstration

The United Cadres Front, UCF, of the NDC has called on Ghanaian workers to distance themselves from Thursdays intended demonstration called by the TUC and organised labour. Addressing a news conference in Accra, the General Secretary of the UCF, Amefa Nyaku said demonstration is not the answer to the economic down turn. He said Kofi Asamoah and the TUC must rather team up with government to offer alternative solutions to the economic challenges currently facing the country. Mr. Nyaku also took a swipe at the state media for persistently churning out anti-government news to paint a bad picture of the Mahama led government. On the International Front, Mr Nyaku asked the good people of Ghana to be concerned about the deliberate withholding of development assistance ostensibly targeting and crippling the NDC government. Meanwhile, the leader of the United Renaissance Party, Kofi Wayo, is also calling on workers to help the country come out of this crisis. He said Ghana is not the only country facing economic hardship in the world, adding that as the learned class of the system they are supposed to appreciate that the situation is temporary.
