NPP Organizers Declare Support For Akufo-Addo

Ringing endorsements of the candidature of Nana Akufo-Addo continue to pour in, as activists in the New Patriotic Party settle on him as their preferred candidate to lead the party into the December 2016 elections. Wednesday morning, 35 constituency Organisers and their deputies in the Greater Accra region called on the first National Organiser of the party, at his Nima residence, to reaffirm their total support for him ahead of the Special Electoral College, scheduled to take place on 31st August, and the main presidential primary slated for October 18. The organisers led by their Chairman, Kwabena Boateng, the constituency organiser for Anyaa Sowutuom, and spokesperson, Daniel Odei-Appiah, the Korle Klottey constituency organiser, came to reaffirm their support for Nana Akufo-Addos bid. According to the spokesperson, the group had held a press conference earlier this month where they stated reasons why they believed Akufo-Addo was the peoples man, and the preferred candidate of the majority of Ghanaians to return the country onto the path of prosperity after the mess created by John Mahama-led NDC government. They assured Nana Akufo-Addo that they were going to campaign to ensure a massive and landslide victory for him in the Greater Accra region, adding that their commitment and belief in him, as the man for Ghana, will always remain steadfast. Nana Akufo-Addo thanked the constituency organisers for the faith and trust reposed in him, and urged them to help him jump the first hurdle which is the Special Electoral College, and subsequently the main presidential primary. He reassured them that the NPP has no choice but to win the 2016 elections so as to create a future of hope for the youth and generations unborn, adding that victory in 2016 can only be achieved when the party is united behind whoever emerges victorious in the primary, stressing that the task ahead is not a one-man-job. Nana Addo also admonished all NPP members and supporters of other aspirants to be mindful of their language during the course of the campaign, as this is a small matter of electing a leader between members of the great Elephant party. This is the second endorsement Nana Addo has received from activists and executives of the party from the region after Tuesdays endorsement by the Greater Accra womens wing of the party.
