Kofi Jumah: Dr. K. K. Sarpong Is A Two-Faced Politician

Former Member of Parliament for Asokwa Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has launched a derisive attack on a former Chief Executive Officer of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), describing him as a two-faced politician. According to him, Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong is a treacherous politician who pays dues to both the opposition New Patriotic Party and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). K K Sarpong pays here and there. He is NPP and NDC. Why, does he think I dont know? Does he think I am afraid of him? He quizzed on NEAT 100.9 FM. According to the former Parliamentarian, it is now clear to him how Dr. K. K. Sarpong came by the resources with which he engineered his exit from Parliament by making sure he lost the Asokwa Constituency Parliamentary primaries in the lead up to the 2012 general elections. "at that time, he said if I give two million, he would give four million. Not knowing he was enjoying the booty of this dirty moneyfire burn you K. K. Sarpong. Not knowing you used this dirty money to take over my seat," Hon. Jumah fumed. He made these remarks during a discussion of an alleged cabal in the oil industry, comprising of a group of private individuals and elements in the Mahama Administration, who have come together to make huge sums of money on the backs of Ghanaian by deliberately making sure TOR is not operational. Many have over the years, questioned the rationale behind the creation of a system where more than twenty Bulk Distribution Companies (BDCs) operate in the Ghanaian petroleum sector but the nation still experiences rampant shortages. There is a school of thought that these BDCs, which are privately owned, often create artificial shortages just to drive up the prices of petroleum commodities. However, Kofi Jumah claims Dr. K. K. Sarpong, who was once the Executive Chairman of Kumasi-based Asante Kotoko Football Club, owns one of these BDCs and used his "blood money" gained by riding on the backs of Ghanaians to win his Parliamentary seat for his wife, the sitting MP for Asokwa, Hon. Patricia Appiagyei. He further called on the President to make sure the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and Bulk Oil Storage and Transport gets back running at full capacity, in order to stop "people from using the energy sector to make filthy money and it is not the BDCs but everyone in the supply chain at the detriment of the ordinary Ghanaian". Maxwell Kofi Jumah has asked fire to burn any individual who has connived with elements of the Mahama Administration to milk the nation dry in the petroleum industry. these people deliberately cause shortages of petrol and gas in order to raise prices. Fire burn them all, he said.
