Sammy Adjei Signs For Great Olympics?

Former Black Stars and Hearts of Oak goalie Sammy Adjei, affectionately called Sammy Bamako Adjei is close to reaching an agreement with Accra Great Olympics ahead of 2014/2015 First Capital Plus Premier League season. According to credible sources close to Ghana Sports, Sammy Adjei has expressed interest in joining the club and top officials of the 'Wonder club' are doing everything possible to get him to sign on. Sammy Adjei is one of the experienced goalkeepers we are targeting for our club since Oly now wants to remain in the league for long," the source disclosed. We hope he will be in our team but cannot confirm now. Reports say while Olympics have agreed a personal deal, Sammy Adjei is yet to meet with the clubs officials for final negotiations. The shot-stopper, who was hugely instrumental in Black Stars' maiden run to the World Cup qualification and Accra Hearts of Oak's annexing of the African Champions League in 2000, left the club after former coach David Duncan decided to bring in younger players. Sammy Adjei became a major casualty in an audacious bid by Duncan to revamp the squad for title pursuits during his reign.
