Black Queens Will Sail Through - Head Coach Yusif Basigi

Head Coach of the Black Queens, Yussif Basigi says he remains confident of his charges despite being paired against South Africa, Cameroon and Algeria in the 2014 African Women's Championship to be staged in Namibia. According to the coach, Ghanas group has been described as the group of death but with determination, focus and hard work, the Queens will make it past the group phase. I have spoken to the players and urged them to revive the name of the Black Queens. All the players know the task ahead and I am sure they will make mother Ghana and myself very proud," Basigi said. The tournament kick-starts from 11-24 October. Basigi told Ghana Sports that the team will resume camping later in the month in order to put themselves in shape ahead of the tournament. "It is time for Ghanas Queens to be champions of African Womens football." The tournament will also serve as the continental qualifier for the 2015 FIFA Womens World Cup to be hosted by Canada. While Ghana is in Group A, hosts Namibia, Cote dIvoire, Zambia and Champions Nigeria are in Group A.
