The Regional Director of Health Services made it clear that the incubation period of any Ebola patient was between two to 21 days, and that within that period, the disease could not be transferred to any other person, explaining further that Ebola was not an air-born disease, and advised immigration personnel at the various borders to stop using masks for the nose and mouth. Dr. Teye-Nuertey assured health workers in the region that adequate preparations had been made to provide them with enough protective materials to handle any Ebola case, stressing that the only way Ghanaians could be free from the disease was to be more vigilant and wash their hands with soap after interacting with people.
