Illegal Land Sellers In Prampram Cautioned

Nene Tetteh Djan III, Paramount Chief of Prampram, has appealed to illegal land sellers in the community to desist from such acts as it had made Prampram the most risky place to buy land. He said land guards the perpetrators had brought to the community were making life risky in the community and the country at large. You cant sell what you dont have so if you are not a land owner please dont attempt to sell lands as you will be found out one day, he said. Nene Tetteh Djan said this during his annual address to usher in the Homowo celebration of the chiefs and people of the Prampram Traditional Area at Prampramn. The chiefs and elders paraded through the principal streets of Prampram and the chief sprinkled the traditional Kpokpoi to signify the beginning of the Homowo traditional festival in the area. Nene Tetteh Djan, who is the President of the Prampram Traditional Council, said Homowo of the Ga-Adangbe people meant hooting at hunger which traditionally signified the commemoration of the first harvest of maize after a prolonged famine period. He said Homowo was a festival celebrated to have family gatherings, settle disputes, plan funerals, marriages and the performance of puberty rites for adolescent girls. Everybody will go to his or her fathers home tomorrow to settle all outstanding family disputes as well as draw plans for next year, he said. He spoke about the Ebola Viral Disease (EVD) and advised the youth and the community to report to the hospital on time when they experience any symptoms of the EVD. He called for unity and peace in the area to enable authorities to plan and execute development projects since division and litigation retarded development.
