Agona East NDC Elects New Constituency Officers

Alhaji Jabiru Ibrahim, Mankrong-Junction Imam and a businessman, has been elected Chairman of the Agona East constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He polled 283 votes to defeat Mr Eric Turkson, Marketing Manager of Dukes Petroleum Company Limited, who obtained 93 votes. Mr Jonathan Kwame Abban, a businessman and two times constituency Chairman did not contest the election. Mr Paul Gold Water Agyakwa, polled 295 votes to defeat Mr Shaibu Yusif who had 86 votes for the position of Vice Chairman. Mr Oscar Mensah polled 228, Mr Ebenezer Baidoo and Ms Grace Duho Ababio who obtained 67 votes and 84votes respectively for the position of Secretary. Mr James Abotawokpor a teacher polled 241 votes to defeat Mr Mordicai Yankson and Daniel Essel who obtained 106 and 33 votes respectively for the Deputy Secretary position. Mr Mary Ama Otwe, a teacher polled 65 votes to beat Ms Adiza Adams, incumbent Women Organizer who obtained 28 votes. Mr Francis Baidoo polled 253 votes to win the Constituency Organizer whiles Alhaji Ibrahim Sahu maintained the Treasurer position Mr John Kuma and Mr Daniel Yaw Nyarkoh won the positions of Youth Organizer and Propaganda Secretary respectively. Mrs Queenster Pokuah Sawyer, Deputy Central regional Minister and MP for the area had urged the delegates to elect executives that could work hard to retain the seat. Mr Alottey Jacobs, the aspiring Central Regional Chairman and Regional Communication Director, appealed to the executives to work together as a team to win the 2016 elections.
