The Progressive People�s Party (PPP) says it has opened nominations for the election of regional executives at regional conferences across the country. The schedule for the conduct of regional conferences, released Saturday by the party has the Central region kicking the programme into action with a 27th September, 2014 conference. It will be followed by the Eastern region on October 4, the Upper East on October 11, the Brong Ahafo region on October 18 with the Volta region following up on October 25. The Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern, Upper West and Western regions will hold theirs in November, according to the programme signed by Kofi Asamoah-Siaw National Secretary. Positions and fees Key positions to be contested for are the Regional Chairman; Vice Chairpersons; Regional Secretary: and Regional Treasurer while other officers will also be elected. The post of Regional Chairman goes with a filing fee of GH₵500.00, Regional Secretary goes for GH₵400.00, same as for Vice Chairpersons, Regional Secretary and Regional Treasurer, while other officers will have to pay GH₵200. �Per a decision of the National Committee, all female aspirants will be required to pay 50 percent of the approved filing fees. �Nomination forms are available at all regional secretariats of the party for interested members for the election of regional officers.� The party said it will also hold its National Convention to elect national officers on Saturday 13th December, 2014 at Tema. �Modalities for the National Elections will be announced in due course,� the release said, explaining that �all paid up card-carrying members of the party are entitled to vote in all elections of the party.�
