The Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Yamoah Ponkor, says come what may, �President John Dramani Mahama will never lose the 2016 polls�, and has asked political pundits to revise their notes about the chances of the ruling party in the next general elections. Yamoah Ponkor believes Ghanaians are more than willing to vote massively for the current administration due to concerted efforts to stabilize the economy. According to him, President Mahama�s request of one million votes from the Ashanti Region will surely come to pass. His comments on Okay Fm�s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show follows on the heels of assertions by some leading members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former NDC MP for Lower Manya Krobo, Hon Michael Teye-Nyaunu that President Mahama has performed abysmally and is likely to be shown the exit in 2016. �We are going to maximize our votes in 2016 elections and with the work that we are doing for Ghana, it won�t happen that they will not vote for President Mahama. President Mahama will never lose 2016 elections because Ghanaians know that we are working hard to stabilize the economic situation and they also know that Ghana�s economy stands tall in the West African sub-regions. The economic situation has affected everyone globally and not only Ghanaians�..Please tell President Mahama that he will polled more than the one million votes he requested for from Ashanti Region due to the development he has brought to the region. We are on the ground working hard�..2016 belongs to 2016 and it will take care of itself when the time comes; we are not perturbed about what people are saying,� he stated.
