I Was Never Admitted To The Hospital - Apraku

A former Member of Parliament (MP) for Offinso North, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku has debunked claims that he was admitted at the hospital following a short illness. The Al-Hajj newspaper alleged that Dr Apraku who was part of the flagbearer aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), fainted and was admitted at the Hospital after he lost out on being part of the final five to contest the Presidential position of the NPP. In a statment dated 10th September, 2014, Dr Apraku stated that he was never rushed to 'any hospital'. Below is the full statement I write to react strongly to the story which appeared in Tuesday, September 9, 2014 edition of The Al-Hajj newspaper titled Apraku Rushed to Hospital-Following Blackout. Let me state emphatically that Dr Apraku was not rushed to any hospital after the declaration results of the NPP special delegates conference which was held on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Dr Apraku is strong and healthy and have accepted the decision of the delegates and wished the five elected aspirants well. I am therefore, urging the Editor and the newspaper to correct the misleading story with alacrity and also give it the same prominence. Hope this rejoinder will clear the unfounded story Signed Ahmed O. Halid Communication Consultant to Dr K Apraku 10/9/2014
