I Support Akufo-Addo, Amin Anta Declares

I have heard people in Accra say that Nana Akufo-Addo cannot unite the party. I have heard people say that Nana Akufo-Addo is not a unifier. I want to ask you, if he is not a unifier, and cannot unite this party, then what am I doing here? Having been one of the key persons who did not support Nana in 2007 and 2010, and most of you know I was always convincing you not to vote for Akufo-Addo, my presence here should tell the whole world that the Northern Region is strongly united behind Nana Addo and we must demonstrate this on the 18th October. Former Metropolitan Chief Executive of Tamale, Hon. Mohammed Amin Anta, made these comments when he addressed delegates of the Northern Region, on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, when Nana Akufo-Addo took his Thank You tour to the Region. As a former staunch ally of NPP presidential hopeful, Mr. Alan Kyerematen, Hon. Amin Anta indicated to the delegates gathered that Nana Akufo-Addo has demonstrated time and over again that he wants every soul in the party to work with him for victory. His presence at the Radach Hotel, the venue for the meeting between Nana Akufo-Addo and the 70 delegates who voted in the Special Electoral College, he said, is a true sign of the fact that Akufo-Addo is the unifier the NPP needs ahead of election 2016. Hon. Mohammed Amin Anta stated that NPP is blessed to have a man like Nana Akufo-Addo who is seeking the mandate of delegates to lead the party into election 2016. He explained that the ruling National Democratic Congress has proven over the years that it is afraid of an Akufo-Addo presidency because they say he is a man who wants to make a mark as a president and they are afraid that the mark he will make during his tenure is what will kill off the NDC forever and ever. They (NDC) are afraid of Nana because he is incorruptible and as President will not condone corruption. They (NDC) say he is not a struggling man and will not dig his hands into the coffers of the nation. Hon. Amin Anta urged NPP delegates to give Nana Akufo-Addo an emphatic mandate because John Mahama has already started implementing some of Nanas programmes. If John Mahama, the outgoing President, himself, has recognized that Nana Akufo-Addo has credible programmes to save the country, then how about you and I as NPP members? On the phenomenon of insults which is gradually finding its way into the NPP, Hon. Amin Anta indicated that the persons within the party who are raining insults on Nana Akufo-Addo have nothing to lose.
