VIDEO: Africa Has Become A Safe Haven For Terrorists - Prez Mahama

Terrorism is a global headache and to fight this menace, world leaders have always mapped out plans to deal with it. Africa has had its share ever since groups such as Al-Shabaab and Boko Haram were formed. In an address to World leaders at the 69th UN General Assembly in New York, the ECOWAS Chairman and President of Ghana, John John Dramani Mahama, stated that Africa, is vulnerable to terrorism. According to him, the existence of terrorist groups in Africa, could widely be linked to the size and vast terrain the continent offers to them. President Mahama explained to the gathering that the above conditions offer them a place to hide and create a safe haven to carry out their inhumane activities. "60% Africans are under the age of 35 and majority live in extreme poverty"; and according to Presdient Mahama, "this offers terrorists the chance to recruit young ones who lack the skills and education to gain decent employment". In the presidents address, he links the proliferation of technology to the development of terrorism in Africa. Kindly watch the video below and dont forget to leave a comment
