Ex Black Stars midfielder Otto Addo has slammed the Ghana Football Association over the clumsy selection process of the new Black Stars coach claiming Ghana can never have any better coach if the FA continues to go by this cumbersome and wasteful method. The Hamburg SV youth side coach who was part of Ghana's backroom at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil says Ghana needed to have gone on the market to head-hunt for a coach whose qualities and ideologies best suits the Black Stars than to wait for jobless coaches who knows nothing about the team to apply. Otto Addo who was reported to be interested in becoming the next Black Stars coach following the Ghana FA�s decision to part ways with Kwesi Appiah denied the reports, insisting that no good coach will apply for the stars' job. In an exclusive interview with Kumasi-based Angel FM, he said "The process the GFA is using to select the new Black Stars coach is cumbersome and out of the modern day football", "No better coach will apply for the job this way because all the good coaches are not ready to apply, they can only be head-hunted, contacted and subsequently appointed", "You have to go out, search for a better coach who best suits the job and negotiate than to go by this old-long method," He added. The Ghana Football Association has shortlisted five candidates to vie for the position for the Black Stars coaching job. The five potential candidates who are mainly from European descent are expected to go through a series of interviews with the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association in the few coming weeks but Addo says the process will end up not producing any better manager.
