Kotoko 1-1 Hearts

Robin Gnagnes late goal saved Hearts of Oak from another defeat in the hands of Kotoko. Asante Kotoko were held to a one all draw by Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2 leg of the special friendly games dubbed Super 2 at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra on Sunday. Former Maritzburg attacker Frank Sarfo Gyamfi broke the deadlock, but Robin Gnagnes late goal gave Hearts, the equalizer. The Phobians with revenge on their mind pilled pressure on Kotoko, but it was the latter who managed to get the opening goal of the game through Frank Sarfo Gymfi of Black Satellites fame in the 23 minute. Kotoko dictated play after they had taken the lead, but the first half failed to produce any more goal. Back from recess Kotoko continued their dominance in the early minute of the half, before Hearts of Oak took over the game getting to the tail end of the 2 half and created some decent chances, but couldnt find the back of the net. Just as everybody thought Kotoko were running away with another victory that centre referee Agbovi whistled for a penalty which was seemingly soft in favour of the home team Hearts of Oak and penalty expert Robin Gnagne did justice to that by beating Joseph Addo in post to snatch a late equalizer for the Phobians. Fans of both sides, after the game were of the view that the penalty was a controversial one, however Hearts fans believe that Agbovi should have awarded them a penalty earlier. The first leg of the Super 2, which took place in Kumasi on Monday ended 2-0 in favour of the league champions.
