Rahid Sumaila Not Demanding Car and Land Before Signing For Kotoko

Former Kotoko centre back, Rashid Sumaila who is keen on returnin has not demanded a car and a land as widely reported by sections of the media, Acting General Manager of Kotoko, Opoku Nti has said. In an interview with Asantekotokosc.com, the Kotoko manager vehemently denied that, Rashid Sumaila has made such demands. We are the ones dealing with the players club in South Africa. We have received formal communication from them. There is nothing like what is being said in the media, Opoku Nti stated. Rashid, who was actually an Ebusua Dwarfs player when he left Ghana about two seasons ago for Mamelodi Sundowns is likely to be back at Kotoko where he earned stardom during a loan spell. It does not look like he will feature prominently at Sundowns hence the move by Kotoko to re-engage him. Kotoko have thus been communicating with Sundowns to get him on a loan deal. Some media reports alleged this week that, the player is demanding a car and land before he returns to Kotoko. Reacting to those reports, Opoku Nti expressed total disappointment saying that, such fabricated stories are only meant to deceive the public. We cannot control what some people decide to say about Kotoko or a player we are trying to sign. We will however ask that, the truth is reported. Rashid hasnt asked for anything. We are engaging his club. That is the professional thing to do. It surprises me that, such falsehood will be put out there, he said. Opoku Nti urged Kotoko fans to dismiss those reports while assuring them that, management would publicize the re-engagement of Rashid Sumaila at the right time. We are on it. Whatever happens we will make our fans and the general public aware. Asantektokosc.com has sighted correspondence between Sundowns and Kotoko which amply suggest that, Rashid Sumaila may just be on his way to Kumasi.
