Ghana Captain Asamoah Gyan Thanks Tamale For Massive Support Ahead Of Guinea Clash

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has thanked the chiefs and people of Tamale for the massive support accorded the team since arriving in the city to face Guinea in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers insisting they want to finish off the job by defeating the visitors today. The Black Stars skipper says he expects the fans to turn up in their numbers at the Tamale Sports Stadium to �finish off the amazing job� in the wake of the massive show of support since arriving in Tamale on Monday. Gyan made the appeal when the Black Stars paid a courtesy call on the Naa Dakpema Alhassan at the Dakpema Palace on Tuesday to seek the blessing of the chief as they play their first competitive match in Tamale. Ghana play Guinea in their Group E qualifier of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and a victory will be key to the Black Stars chances of reaching the tournament in Morocco. Since arriving the Black Stars have been treated like royalty by the local fans and Gyan expressed the hope that the Black Stars would emerge victors on Wednesday while thanking the fans for their support. �The support we have received he has been outstanding and we want to thank the chiefs and fans for their show of support for the team. We are very very grateful,� Gyan said after greeting the King of the people of Tamale. �We we must finish off the amazing job by coming out in numbers to support the team to win the match for the people of Ghana. The world will be watching and we know the fans will back us to the end.� Naa Dakpema Dawuni Alhassan presented smocks to each player, the coach and other members of the technical team as souvenirs. Kwesi Nyantakyi, president of Ghana Football Association (GFA) was en-skinned as a football development chief and decorated with a chieftaincy smock and a walking stick. There was near stampede at the Dakpema Palace as people throng the Palace to catch a glimpse of the Black Star players who danced to the tunes of the local drums. Abdul Majeed Waris and Mubarak Wakaso won hearts by joining the locals to perform some routine dance.
